The Kolping neighbourhood in Nijmegen has been renewed while soul and soul remain present. Large-scale new construction and renovation of the 242 social housing units were the capstone of a long period of improving liveability in this working-class neighbourhood.
The starting point was: build for the residents and with the residents. 127 homes were renovated, 115 were demolished and 99 new homes were built. This created more space in the Kolping and preserved its appearance.
Approx. 250 metres of slatted fence with ‘kinked’ slats
